To disable a service in Windows, you can follow these steps:
- Open the “Services” management console:
- Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
- Type services.msc and press Enter or click OK. This will open the Services window.
- Locate the service you want to disable:
- Scroll through the list of services to find the one you wish to disable. You can also use the search bar at the top to quickly locate a specific service.
- Disable the service:
- Right-click on the service you want to disable and select Properties from the context menu.
- In the Properties window, locate the “Startup type” drop-down menu.
- By default, it is set to either “Automatic” or “Automatic (Delayed Start).” To disable the service, select Manual or Disabled from the drop-down menu.
- Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.
- Optional: Stop the service (if it is currently running):
- If the service is currently running, you may want to stop it to ensure it is not active anymore.
- Right-click on the service and select Stop from the context menu.
- Restart your computer:
- After disabling the service, it’s a good idea to restart your computer to apply the changes fully.
